The town centre of Rotterdam, the world’s largest sea port, was rebuilt after the devastating bombardments of the second world war. You will visit the 188m high ‘Euromast’, where you can enjoy refreshments and admire the fabulous skyline of Rotterdam and the surrounding towns and cities. Afterwards, you will visit a shipyard where you can see for yourself how the replica of the tall ship ‘de Delft’ is constructed. After lunch you will take a luxury boat trip with the ‘Spido’ on the canals and rivers of Rotterdam.
It is also possible to spend the afternoon at the Maeslantkering or in Kinderdijk.
The Maeslant storm surge barrier is the last part of the Dutch Delta Works and is the world’s largest moveable barrier.
At Kinderdijk you can admire a lot of windmills and you can personally check out how a real Dutch windmill works.
